When Cengage came to Stellar Elements in 2023 to ask about how they might reposition their ubiquitous Gale Library product into a classroom product, it was clear that an educator component would be the best step.

While Gale’s resources were world class, it lacked a sense of how to best implement lessons, align them to scopes and sequences, and compete against other sources of content. We also knew and confirmed with research that, post-pandemic, teacher burnout was one if the most critical problems facing the classroom.

We devised a lesson-planning and student differentiation engine that would allows teachers to easily plan standard-alinged lessons, communicate plans to admins, and spend more time doing the thing they got into teaching to do- building relationships with kids. It was a full scale effort, involving:

  • User Interviews Synthesis
  • Insights Generation
  • Jobs-to-be-done and User Journeys
  • Competitive Analysis and Benchmarking
  • Copywriting and UX Writing
  • UX Flows, Information Architecture creation
  • Prototyping, testing and refining
  • Product Strategy and Roadmapping
  • Strategic Communication and Client Presentations
